Diplomacy nerf?

I was under the impression if diplomacy turns back an incoming attack then any honor gained from successfully defending a village would be yours...
2 denied piggy attacks later and I've gained just over 2k honor - where a single pillage or ransack would gain me around 15k :/
Is there something I've missed?

I checked with the Wolf and he said he doesn't give a rat's xxxx about the rules and can't see why it's honourable to avoid battle at all and as for diplomacy, he said I could stick it up my jumper. I don't think he is a very happy wolf atm.

yeah, you only get about 10% of the honor from diplomacy. FF has been really bad about documenting all the changes between wolf and normal servers.
