anyone remember the Alpha game testing days ?
I remember being in Kent with my parish 'Hastingsleigh'(think that's a close spelling) . My wife convinced by myself playing as well.
Being granted 'X' number of game cards per week (or every second week , memory unclear). How eager I was to use them
Fun times indeed
Anyone else have any memories of Alpha game testing?

Re: Alpha days
I started playing Stronghold Kingdoms at the beginning of Alpha 4.
I remember the gifted Premium Tokens and cards for testing purposes. The Captain was introduced during that Alpha for capturing/buying villages but I don't think the name was changed to charter until the beta.
It was a pity that Alpha 4 just seemed to fizzle out at the end with no big war, probably due to the open beta being around the corner.
Good times!

Re: Alpha days
I remember being involved in my first timed attack although at that time I did not understand the concept. Another player worked out the timing and told me to send my armies at the time indicated.
I remember meeting new players and making friends. One of the things I always enjoyed so much about this game was the community . I can honestly say I have met and made more friends in SHK's than any other MMO I played

Now this is a veterans group thread.
I don't remember the exact day when I joined but the date on my forum profile is wrong for some reason.

I remember only the southern portion of England was open to play . Ireland / Scotland / northern England was closed off (I am sure it was because the Alpha game testing population did not make it reasonable to open up any more)

Re: Alpha days
I didn't get to join that soon, I only found out about this game by coming across a random ad
I don't know when the alpha ran to and from?
My join date is 3 years ago, almost to the day.
Age I, man, can't get enough of that.
