Before you write it off as "This is not D&D, no magic potions or spells", remember that cards already make buildings instantly appear, scouts and armies go super fast, and storage space temporarily triples. This would make play a little more interesting and give players an option to prevent another player from eliminating a wolf lair just before they get there.
