Over 2000 cards

Hi there,
I had a question, limit of cards are 2000, but it's possible to have over 2k cards if you spin the wheel..
But there is no information that it will be (deleted?) next to checktime server..
Because of ending Rise of the Wolf I spinning my wheels, yesterday had over 2500 cards, and it lost. What happen with that? Any way to reclaim it?
Even count it by sale - it's about 3000 card points..
I'm very confused and suprised (in the negative sense).
