The weather is nuts. I understand in the England/Ireland/Scottish map that it rains all day. I can understand that Washington State and Florida also get a lot of rain... but New Mexico? This game has given that state more than a decades worth of rainfall in the first month. Lizards are drowning, and scorpions are starting to evolve gills in a valiant effort to survive the shock to their ecosystem. Before Greenpeace starts picketing your servers, think what you are doing to the continent!

If everythings gets so easy what will be the fun of playing game? With more difficulties games become more fun.
And its doesnot matter you talk about US or UK map.
As david said a weather is same for a whole world.

Talking about USA 1.
If its raining in Mexico it will be raining in whole USA. The game weather doesnot depend on real weather like if you live in mexico and see that outside your window its too sunny dnt expect the game to have a sunny weather too. Weather is same for a whole world.

Also when you start on a new world just as a begineer's help firefly provides you 30+ bonus popularity so you can grow fast.
10 - begineer help
10 - welcome bonus
10 - new player bonus

Weather is still there but it doesnot show up to new player just to help them so they dnt get any negative popularity, also the ai's dnt show up and dnt effect popularity. But it is for some limited time and as soon as the time runs out that +30 pop goes out and you start seeing weather and other things and your popularity is effected by it.

Someone said that weather is something you can't control, and while that's true, you can affect what it does to your village. If the weather is bad, drop your taxes. And in time, you'll notice the weather less and less as you research and build your villages. I'm almost at the point where I'm not concerned how big a negative the weather is dropping my popularity. I can deal with it and continue to grow.

I've played for a long time, and it always seems like there is more "negative" weather than there is positive...

although on world 5, its been on a +24 bright sunshine for 5 days.... but it took like 2 weeks of negativity to get that lmao.

We are now back to heavy rain -24 pop for 24hrs, from storms -30 pop.

One thing I have noticed is that people on the server are less active when the bad weather strikes, and as a result spend less on cards, so why is FF shooting themselves in the foot with this??
That's when you should be more active! During periods of bad weather, I've taken the opportunity to hit enemies knowing they will be slower to replace troops. And if you know they aren't online, its the perfect time to ransack and even smash a hole in their castle to give them the minus for not having their keep enclosed. Good times!

Perhaps during bad weather armies should move slower and castles have a defence bonus to simulate attacking armies getting bogged down in the mud (I believe that at the battle of Agincourt there was heavy rain beforehand and the French cavalry became bogged leaving them at the mercy of the English archers).

Show me the data you have collected over the previous 27 days.

There are so many negative factors in the game and only some positive factors that affect popularity, which is why i feel its is hugely unbalanced. Wolf lairs, bandit camps, AI castles, open keep, bad weather, inquisition and disease are all negative factors. The positive factors are only good weather and blessings. So its 7 : 2 which is hugely unbalanced!
Maybe they should add some positive factors in future updates...
Seems like not so long ago someone was complaining there wasn't enough to do.

It would be unbalanced if you could do nothing about all the things you listed. You can kill wolf lairs, bandit camps, AI castles, you can close your keep, nobody uses inquisition, and you can cure disease. Bad weather? Lower taxes and make up what you might lose by selling goods to your parish.

What if I am in age 2 and there are huge wolf lairs and top level wolf castles along with storms? I have to consider my cost to remove all of them and make the parish clean. And since there is so much negative popularity i won't be able to replenish the troops i lose, fast enough.
That's funny, I'm in Age 3 on World 1. Just started again after having lost my villages due to inactivity. I'm not having any problems growing even with a wolf castle in one parish and a pig castle in another. I just started my 4th village.

And no, I'm not able to take out any of the AI, I just don't have the troops do that with. But in time I will. Right now I just plan on focusing on getting to the point where I have a solid castle in each village. The bad weather we just had along with all the negative modifiers was nothing to cry about. Just deal with it using what abilities you do have. Low pop? Research entertainment buildings. Put them close to your town hall to get the max. The negative from a wolf lair is nothing, I could care less about those. Do I wish the AI castles were gone? Yes, but I'm still recruiting troops even with all the minus to popularity.

I am going to track the weather in a spreadsheet and track at least a hundred data points.

Day 26 = Storms -30
Day 27 = Heavy Rain -24

Did anyone else record the weather for earlier World USA-1 days?
