How much does it cost to card up?

Post by meatball2k »

Hello my question is pretty obvious but I am really curious as to how much it would cost to rank to prince within 20-25 days which I have seen happen, with all this db scandal going on I am just growing sceptical, the reason I am sceptical is the fact I had a guyin my w7 faction that spent £200-150 per month and I thought that was insane amount and he has only recently ranked o prince in last 30 days on w7, granted he is a new player to the game and only sytarted on w7 so he may now have known about quick ranking techniques.

So how much do you think you would need to spend on card packs to be able to rank so quickly? My £5 per month is enough for me so dont think i will be hitting prince anytime soon on USA but I dont know I am starting to think these people are cheating and I asked this previously but if someone hits prince in a month can firefl check his account to see how much he has spent on cards to make sure that the money spent will allow him to rank up so quickly. i.e prince in 25 days but only spent $50

The amount in $ is pretty random. There are many factors i.e what cards are given inside the deck they purchase etc. When i've spent some money on crowns, I've found it hard to get the honour cards I was aiming for.

Yeah I realise it will be a ball park figure but you must have to rely heavily on advanced chivalry cards to fire you through the ranks, do you think if you spent $1000 dollars would get you a head start to make prince within a month, Its a hard one to call I know but I have seen players do this on 2 worlds and starting to do a 3rd world less then 2 month after levelling up on the last world. just seems crazy they bounce from one world to another throwing cash around as if its nothing then dominating people untill the field levels then if they havent got world domination they jump to th next world to start it all again.

Dont get me wrong game is really good but it could be abit better and if you get on the wrong side of carders early on you get shafted, you may as well reset yourself and start ont he other side of the map

I would say a significant amount of money is what they would have to do. I know ranking up gets easier with more villages under your control as you can combine banqueting with cards. The situation you did refer to above is exactly what happened to me in World 8. I was doing OK but the steward was carding up fast, in the end he took me out and it took me 7 days to get back on my feet travelling all the way to Scotland.

I think like everything else in life it is a matter of efficiency. I have been playing for 1 year and 2 months. Early on I made 2 purchases of crowns to reach loyalty level 10 which generates a random card every 12 hours. I estimate that in any given week I collect 10 out of the maximum 14 cards from loyalty.

Wheel spins, the true luck of the game, can also generate card packs and card points. This is one reason I play on all 8 UK servers and USA 1.

I trade in cards that I do not use. There are some "diamond grade" cards that I never end up using and when I see 10 of them in my card collection, I trade in 5 for the 25 or more card points.

When I purchase cards, I look at efficiency. Such as 7 points for 600 wood is 85.714 wood per card point. 18 points for 2,000 wood is 111.111 wood per card point. 40 points for 5000 wood is 125.0 wood per card point. Some ramp up in efficiency, some ramp down. And a key is to only spend card points for what you really need.

I think that if you spend $50 a year on Firefly (the equivient of one computer game per year) and you spend your crowns wisely you can double or triple your efficiency.

However if you were to just try to use your crowns to buy expensive card packs and get lucky, then convert everything into very inefficient Chivalry cards, you could spend Thousand of dollars to rank up fast, but that would not get you the sustainable economy to generate resources, troops, and village based honor and faith points.

Maybe there is a person that has $1000 to "blow on a game." But I expect that mindset if going to take $1000 to a racetrack or casino instead of playing a computer game.

I know what you are talking about but when you see a viscount after 5 days its abit rediculous, what do you have to do to get to that level in 5 days, is it possible to blast through banquet cards and level so quickly in 5 days well I seen a Baron I havent actually noticed a viscount yet on usa1 but there was deffo a few floating about on w8 quick enough, basically though I am starting to now get sceptical about people spending so much at first I thought wow there rich guys but now I am thinking are they rich or are they cheating, I love the game but I am now starting to get sceptical, it may be me being jealous but its worrying when a world starts you have to hope to avoid going to war against these guys as not many people are on there level, so they can take who they want when there want.

i think you guys are looking at it way too narrowly. its not as if the only way to card yourself to higher ranks is getting lucky and pulling an advanced chivalry card. its all about smart playing and building. some are better than others. heck, i remember when w6 launched, i was in a parish with a long time w2 veteran. he was used to sending 10 army timed attacks full of catapults and such. however, he was TERRIBLE at building. he had gotten so used to the style of play he couldnt adjust. i bring that up because many of these guys are the exact opposite. they are smart builders. they know which techs to research. they know which cards provide the most benefit. deke, you bring up a great point that most overlook: valuing the cards return. for that reason, i rarely play cards that only provide a specified amount of a good. why spend 8 card points on a 400 wood card when i can spend 8 points to get an x3 for 12 hours and end up getting like 10k wood???? these people that are ranking up fast are most likely doing it legitly. however, they are most likely spending lots and using cards in all sorts of ways. probably on constant wood, stone, and banquet cards. then use your research related cards on what you need to rank up.

Stone, wood, iron + haulage.

Apples and other food + vet farmer.

Castle designer + what ever the other card was called.

Some cards stack up. You can build a full castle in mins if your mates can provide you with the stone.

Ff made it expensive in terms card points to do that tho with one upgrade.

I think $1000 will buy you a lot more fun with us than it would at a racetrack or a casino. :) Probably last you longer too!
