I see you have now joined world 1. I bet you can see a little difference in the activity over the water (and in general) compared to world 2.
We need more incentives to help prevent one house world rule in this game!

I think other than world 1 and world 2 the main difference would be the age of the world. I am not in world 3 or 5 so I can not say much about it, nor can I say anything about the non English worlds.
World 1 is the oldest world where some of the best players have been fighting each other for over a year, and had to learn things largely in a hands on way. In this world you will find the longest and closest in game partnerships, so competition to get high office is steep.
I would not fully count out world 2. Right now I find world 2 to be the most puzzling to watch and unique.
