i would say the 1st 2 books sort of lead you into the general direction of the main charackters/story and from the 3rd on its full on fantasy weirdness..you have not yet seen anything in the tv show ;)
and then, it is of course a matter of taste.i liked all 5 books very much.and the series is as true to the books as you can go with television series.

one part why i liked the books and love the series is the deepness of each character and how much time is spend developing them. with the exception of king joffrey, i dont think i could say to really dislike anyone.all have their point of views and its that character development that keeps viewers at the secreen..well, me anyway ;)
not to speak of DRAGONS :D

just as mechjosh, i cant wait for Daenerys to make a "proper" appearance.
course you have favorites..i think Tyrion,Arya,Varys and jon snow are some of my favs lol

Watched the first 2 seasons because it was that highly recommended.

I would describe it as "typically American".

Predictable at most times, total lack of subtility. The many, many sex scenes are just insulting. These scenes never added anything to the plot so far and I get the feeling the producers take their audience as horny teenagers that need a pair of * each episode to keep them interested. Furthermore, almost all women, like in most HBO series, are either painfully stupid/naive or total *.

I don't see how. For ages, series managed to get the point of seduction or "love" across without being this graphic. I'm not prude or Christian, but like I said, the amount of sex in this series made me feel cheap for watching it.

i suppose they put those in to make the show more believeable. in the middle ages sex and all that had to do with it was just like how it is shown in GoT(i suppose) that of course includes the blatant sexism.

There is * if you want to watch such things. Watching this is for the story and it's a shame you can't to see it.

I've not actually heard anyone have a problem with the sex scenes until you. Some girls at my workplace joked around saying Spartacus was just like *, but never said it wasn't a good programme. Game of Thrones is nothing compared to Spartacus in numbers of nudity scenes; You should give that a shot at watching!

And why would a Christian have a problem watching it?

I believe I did explain why I found the reoccuring sex scenes unnecessary to the plot. I also said that personally, I don't consider the plot that special as it's quite predictable. I've seen 1 episode of spartacus and didn't like it either, especially because of the historical inaccuracy. For Spartacus, I'd recommend you the two movies with the similar name instead.

About "historical accuracy" in Game of Thrones people, come on... It's a fantasy setting with dragons, magic and other mythical creatures.

I have my own title for this show, it's called Game of Bones. Or more appropriately, The Game of Bᴏners.

With good * like this who needs porno?

One thing you dont get from the tv series is all the little clues it gives you as to whats going on in the books. Still though I loved the books and love the show. We need the author to pull his finger out though as the series is catching up to the books.

yeah I think he is close to finishing next book then only 1 left after that so potentially 2 books and I think where only up to 3rd book in series crossing over into 4th there can easily be another series to cover rest of 4th book 2 seasons to cover book 5 then that will give him a good while to get last book done, he doesn't write very quickly though he has took about 18year to do all of them so far.
