Coming back Please help

I haven't played in over a year. Any advice how to return into and fit in to the stronghold of today? Considering it's much different then when I left? :roll: :?:

World 1 is currently full of war. I'd recommend either waiting a bit or be expecting a... unsteady welcome back.
